Financial Transparency

Brunswick House First Nation is in partnership with multiple funding agencies and follows generally accepted accounting principles and the First Nations Financial Transparency Act (FNFTA).

This Act requires that First Nations to whom the Act applies make their audited consolidated financial statements and the Schedule of Remuneration and Expenses available to their members. These documents must also be posted and published on a website.

In compliance with the Act, ISC/CIRNAC is required to publish these documents on the department’s website. 

Brunswick House First Nation is currently in the process of obtaining their First Nations Financial Management Board (FMB) designation and has signed the Financial Administration Law (FAL).

This is an estimated 1–2-year project.
