Student Transportation

School bus transportation provided daily to and from school, rides are also available for after school activities.

In-School classroom support

Student support workers are available at both schools to help students one on one or in a group setting.

Scholarship Opportunity

Wabun’s scholarship program is supported through sponsorship and funds raised at the Annual Wabun Scholarship Fund Golf Tournament, held every August.

Students member to Wabun’s First Nations, enrolled in a post-secondary institution, are eligible to apply for a scholarship. As part of his/her application package, the candidate must include a short narrative, why he/she is deserving of a scholarship, as well as proof of academic performance or recent transcript.

First Nation & Inuit youth employment strategy

The First Nation & Inuit Youth Employment Strategy (FNIYES) program is developed to help organizations employ youth by providing wage subsidies for summer work experience. FNIYES programs assists youth in acquiring employability skills to prepare for future entry into the labor market.

FNIYES Eligible participants must meet the following criteria:

  • student or youth ordinarily resident on reserve;
  • between the ages of 15 to 30;
  • student must be a registered secondary student in preceding year as well as upcoming year; and
  • youth must not be currently employed (Skills Link) and legally entitled to work in Canada.

FIRST NATION ADULT SECONDARY EDUCATION

The First Nation Adult Secondary Education (FNASE) grant provides funding to support the implementation and expansion for secondary programming to adults ordinarily residing on reserve.

The overall aim of this program is to increase the number of high school graduating students. Brunswick House First Nation is in the beginning stages of this program, please watch our webpage for more updates.

Post Secondary Student Support Program

Brunswick House First Nation provides financial and academic supports to assist eligible students in gaining post-secondary education, qualifications and skills necessary to obtain their individual career goals.

Eligibility for assistance is based on available funds.  Eligible financial supports can include: tuition, books & supplies, and living allowances.

Application Deadlines:

    • Fall intake application forms are due on or before June 1st.
    • Winter intake application forms are due on or before October 1st.

Indigenous Early Learning & Child Care

The Indigenous Early Learning and Child Care program is developed to help strengthen early learning and child care for Indigenous families and children between the ages of 0 – 6. 

Programs include but are not limited to: infant and child development, learning through play, land based learning,  school readiness, parent support/drop in sessions and child care transportation to name a few.
